This element refers to the sum of the resistance-s that a train (may consist of several vehicles) must overcome with the help of a driving force in order to travel at a constant or accelerated speed on a horizontal or inclined path. The sum of vehicles' resistance is not the total of train resistance due to aerodynamic effects of vehicle formations.
