Syntax

Autoexport from the XML-Schema for element RAILML:railML of railML® version 3.2
Documentation This is the root element of any railML file.
Subschema railml
Parents*
Children common (0..1), infrastructure (0..1), interlocking (0..1), metadata (0..1), rollingstock (0..1), timetable (0..1), visualizations (0..1)
Attributes:
  • version: the supported railML version should be declared for software compatibility reasons, valid for all subschemas, don't mix railML versions between subschemas in one XML file (obligatory; xs:string)
*Notice:
Elements may have different parent elements. As a consequence they may be used in different contexts.
Please, consider this as well as a user of this wiki as when developing this documentation further.
Aspects that are only relevant with respect to one of several parents should be explained exclusively in the documentation of the respective parent element.
